Hi! My name is João and I'm an electrical and electronics engineer. My area of studies was Energy and Control Systems, however I always had a call for electronics. I have experience as an Hardware developer for an Internet of Things project. I'm also a member and founder of eLab Hackerspace in Faro, which I started with some friends a few years ago.
Ever since I was a little kid, I always was a bit curious and that made me start exploring everything I could. I started by opening small appliances and toys to try and understand what was inside of them, and how they worked. That later became an hobby when I started creating my own electronic circuits and fixing home devices. I suppose that molded the person I am today.
Some of the technologies with which I have worked before are: microcontrollers, embedded systems, IP networks, wireless communications, industrial instrumentation and protocols, among others. My areas of interest are engineering, electronics, robotics, digital fabrication, home automation and chemistry.
As a member of a Hackerspace as well as a maker myself, I believe in the power of community and the sharing of resources and knowledge to build and make things. This is the main reason for creating this blog, I'll share what I've learned so far, if it's worth to, from small electronic projects with microcontrollers, to high voltage fun, as well as some interesting academic works. Also, this is a good way of keeping my projects and documentation all together, a portfolio, therefore attempting to stop their "fragmentation", but that's also where the paradox begins.
